Looking for some better, cleaner, toxin-shunning hair care? Of course you are! If you're washing chemicals into your hair and down the drain (!), how can it really be clean? Check out these lovely alternatives and we're pretty sure you'll find yourself in lather-rinse-repeat heaven!

worldSALONworldCLEAN & worldPROTECT. Their own plant-based luxury line with none of the bad stuff. The fragrance-free formulations can be used interchangeably on hair and skin - amazing! You can also opt to add a blend of organic essential oils if you prefer a nifty scent. Cleans better than most natural shampoos, requiring less product per use. The conditioner is light but works well – I can pass a comb through my wet hair, right out of the shower!

Green Cricket 100% Natural Shampoo & Conditioner: Teens and tweens will love this scent - fruity and playful. Nicely moisturizing without feeling heavy, these products also have a squeaky-clean eco profile. Other scents available.

Earthsafe Natural Fragrance Shampoo & Conditioner: A personal favourite, this line combines effective natural cleansing with aromatherapy - I genuinely look forward to enjoying this fantastic invigorating scent (that includes ylang ylang and palma rosa) each time I wash my hair! Leaves hair feeling really clean with tons of shine. Other scents available.

Rocky Mountain Soap Rosemary Shampoo Bar: A no-nonsense bar shampoo with rosemary and castor oil, this is great for short hair. Our publisher’s fave, this has a fantastic herbal scent and works well on happy & itchy scalps alike. Leaves hair manageable and with volume.

TIP: If you’re new to natural shampoos, remember that you’ll often need to shampoo twice for thick or long hair. This is because these kinder, greener products are free of nasty lathering agents like sodium laureth sulfate.
