Detox baths are an easy at home way to support your child’s body in the comfort of your own home. Baths themselves are therapeutic and adding elements such as Epsom salts and baking soda can help them better support other aspects of health like muscular recovery, overall skin health and a relaxed nervous system. Some conditions these baths can support are anxiety, constipation, overstimulation, sore muscles, poor sleep, eczema, itchy skin, common colds/illness as well as overall pain and inflammation. Epsom salts particularly are made of magnesium sulfate, which can be absorbed through the skin during a bath to promote relaxation and reduce inflammation. It does this through its action on regulating the nervous system and detoxification pathways. Baking soda is great for the skin and illness recovery as it softens the bath water and balances pH, which soothes the skin and neutralizes toxins.
