Berries are anti-aging powerhouses that have a lower impact on blood sugar than other fruits. This recipe has a boost of protein from collagen.

Ingredients
          1⁄2 lb frozen blueberries
          1⁄2 lb frozen strawberries
          1⁄2 lemon or orange, zest and juice
          1⁄4 c water
          1⁄4 c maple syrup
          2 T collagen powder (optional)
          1 t pure vanilla extract
              Instructions
              - In a medium pot over low–medium heat, combine the blueberries, strawberries, citrus juice, water, maple syrup, and collagen powder.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and citrus zest.
- Divide into portions and serve warm, or store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
